Read-Out Serviceability reports of FDR/CVR/CFDR are required by Civil Aviation Authority during inspections/maintenance serviceability/audits as well as for an aircraft continuing airworthiness.
As per ICAO ANNEX 6: ICAO Annex 6, Part I: 220.127.116.11; ICAO Annex 6, Part II, Section II: 18.104.22.168.4; ICAO Annex 6, Part III, Section II: 22.214.171.124:
“The operator shall conduct operational checks and evaluations of recordings from the flight recorder systems to ensure the continued serviceability of the recorders.”
FDT assists in creation of FDR/CFDR/CVR operability/serviceability reports. The report is created using FDT template or client’s sample. The report is created conducting an analysis of the recorded data to unsure the recorder is operating correctly.

The report is also created in conformity with FAR 121.344(d; F), Appendix M 34 parameter requirement FAA AC20-141B and JAR OPS 1.715.
Serviceability report for each 600 hours/12 months or 1200 hours/24 months of FDR/VCR/CFDR operations is also required by the manufacturers.
Based on received samples of previously recorded voice recorders, FDT has capabilities to verify that Pilot’s, Copilot’s and area microphones are on the correct channels, and can be replayed. A report will be created based on the customer requirements.
An analysis of flight Data is required after 600 hours /1200 hours of operation for FDT/CFDR. FDT assists in creation of FDR/CFDR/CVR operability/serviceability reports. The report is created using FDT template or client’s sample.
