Flight Section

Flight Section

Flights tab contains all recently uploadedflights.

This is the main section of Expressa where FDM specialist manages uploaded files and prepares them for analysis.

Flights list can be represented in two ways: Tree View, and Table View.Tree view allows to create different folders for user selected files. Forexample, you may create each folder for each aircraft type, or tail number to store most important flights, requiring exceptional attention. Or you can create processed folder and drop the flight files that have been already processed.

To create a new folder, click right mouse button on the “Root”folder and select “Create”. Name the folder to your preference, click on the relevant file and by holding it, drag and drop inside the folder.

To rename or remove the folder, select a relevant option from the drop-down menu. Table view represents the list of flight files containing detailed information. Pay attention to the Status column of the table. This column indicates whether flight was analysed or not. A plus sign indicates the file was analysed and the minus sign indicates the opposite.

“Menu” button on the top panel provides different options to process flight files. By selecting a flight file, click “Menu” button and choose on the following options.

   - Delete : Removes the flight file from XpressA Flights section.

   - Select all : Selects all flight files in the flights section.

   - Export :  When choosing this option, the flight file is prepared for       archiving to store it as a rar compressed file in a different place on your       device.

   - Analysis: choose this option if during manual upload you skipped       “analysis” option on purpose. When choosing this option, a file becomes       unchecked when analyzed if viewed in tree mode, and in table mode, an       indicator of that is a plus sign.

   - Export coordinates : choose this option if you want to export flight path       to kml file.ExpressA extracts the GPS coordinates and altitude from the       flight file and generates the KML file. KML file is a native Google Earth       format. If opened in Google Earth, you can review the flight in Google       Earth.

As soon as you processed the flight files, it is recommended to delete them, especially those, not requiring special attention. This is recommended toenhance productivity.

A big list of files in flights section may slow down your workflow due to limitations of your browser and internet speed. By removing flight files from the flights section, you only clean the flights section interface. This action does not have any impact on the statistics and dashboardand does not delete the flight from database, because all analyzed files are stored separately in internal database as processed data.
